Glam Goth—it’s dark, it’s mysterious, it’s sexy, and it’s fabulous!

Many would probably think I’ve lost my mind saying Goth fashion is sexy and glamorous, and I wouldn’t be surprised if you think so. Before, when I hear the word Goth, the first thing that comes to mind is death, followed by images of black—lots of black actually. Yup, it sure is a depressing sight before.

However, in the past five years or so, some of the dark and enigmatic elements of Goth have actually taken the fashion world by storm. In fact, top fashion designers such as Calvin Klein, Vera Wang, Marc Jacobs, Gareth Pugh, and Alexander McQueen have already gone Gothic in their latest collections as seen in the images below:

And it gets more interesting. Aside from the fashion industry, even Hollywood hotties and certified fashionistas such as Charlize Theron and Eva Green are getting in touch with their dark side. Charlize Theron showed up at the London premiere of Snow White and the Huntsman and stunned everyone there with her revealingly sexy yet classy vamp look. The sultry Eva Green, on the other hand, lit up the purple carpet in the European premier of Dark Shadows with her Morticia Addams inspired ensemble.

Quite sophisticated and sexy, don’t you think? Having a change of heart about Glam Goth? If you’re interested in dabbling into the dark, sexy, and stylish world of Glam Goth, it’s actually quite easy—check out these pieces here that you can play around with and channel your darkest ideas into your style:

It’s easy, right? It’s just a matter of putting the right pieces together and having the the sense of style and the Gothic attitude to do it. Just add a bit of black here and there and put on a Gothic makeup—dark eye shadow, pale foundation, dark red or black lipstick—and you’ll surely get those Glam Goth going for you. You can also play around with other “melancholic” colors such as purple, red, green, and yes, even blue—but not too much though, you don’t really want to overshadow (if that’s even possible) the black. Complete the getup with some silver or gold accessories and black nail polish and it’s definitely going to be a sexy-meets-gloomy kind of getup.
