Women and shoes—now that’s a love affair nobody can break. Am I right, girls? Heels, flats, sandals, boots, platforms, wedges, clogs, peep-toes, and yes even trainers—name it, we love it! That’s how we are with shoes and that’s how it’s going to be.

I’m sure I’m not the only one who feels so elated every time I shop for new shoes. From Liz Taylor to Carrie Bradshaw, we’ve seen women’s obsession with shoes throughout history—our “weakness” as men might say.

Yes, it’s definitely one of the best feelings in the world for most of us. Some would even go as far as saying that it’s better than sex—such is the power of shoes over women. I don’t know. There’s something about slipping on a new pair of shoes that really gets us girls going. And we certainly go nuts if these top names in women’s shoes are involved:

Jimmy Choo

Surely the most recognizable name today when it comes to women’s shoes. Jimmy Choo is worn by pretty much all the who’s who in show biz, modeling world, and in politics. Cate Blanchett, Blake Lively, Anne Hathaway, Jennifer Lawrence, Taylor Swift, Beyonce, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, and other Hollywood A-listers have been seen several times in red carpet gala events wearing JC’s. And yes, even First Lady Michelle Obama is a huge follower of this shoe brand.

Christian Louboutin

There’s no other word to describe Christian Louboutin shoes but luxurious. Even their trainer lines are extravagant, what with studded laces and slip-ons. And with their heels? You can be sure that this French shoe line would not disappoint. To add to its prestige, you can easily recognize Christian Louboutin shoes with their trademark bright red sole.

Alexander McQueen

With his cutting edge yet somehow classic shoe design, fashion designer Alexander McQueen has gain popularity among A-listers since the middle part of the 90’s. Now, women loves his shoes so much that the brand continues to be the top favorites consistently, year after year.

Miu Miu

Quality meets high fashion, that’s what Miu Miu (nickname of the owner Miuccia Prada) is known for. Endorsed by top celebrities such as actress Katie Holmes and model Laetitia Casta, Miu Miu will definitely be a mainstay in the luxury shoes business.

It’s stylish, it’s comfortable, and it’s quality is commendable. Gucci has been around the fashion industry since the 30’s. However, back in the 90’s, Gucci found themselves on the brink of bankruptcy. Fortunately, they were able to turn things around with the help of Tom Ford, then relatively unknown. From then on, they’ve rebuilt their fashion empire and now continues to thrive, especially with their high-fashion women’s shoe line.

You see, just reading the names and brands mentioned above made my heart skip a bit. Just a word of advice though: obsessions should be fed once in a while, or it may blow up in your face one of these days if you don’t—hahaha, kidding. Yes, it might be an obsession but just like chocolates, cakes, and ice creams, it wouldn’t hurt to indulge on them once in a while, right?
